Nova Collective is a Bossa Nova band led by pianist Louis Ryan, with a lineup ranging from 5 to 8 of the finest jazz and latin musicians Ireland has on offer. Their music is influenced by an unusual blend of Latin Jazz, traditional Irish singing, classical, and more, while their live shows often involve more than just a simple music performance, encompassing dance and theatre.
In 2013 they released a series of music videos to great acclaim, followed by a prestigious debut show in the Project Arts Centre. In July 2013 they released their debut EP, and later that year created and performed at the inaugural “Corcovado” – a unique and wildly popular Irish-Brazilian Culture Night in The Button Factory.
In 2014, armed with a brand new half-Irish, half-Brazilian lineup and a host of new songs with lively, intricate arrangements, they played a number of shows around the country while recording their 2nd EP Nova Collective presents… New Samba, which was released in January 2015 along with a highly successful Irish tour. 2015 will see them play the Irish festival circuit along with select dates in the UK, ending the year with their biggest headline gig to date.
